I have always been a "mountain person", skiing and climbing since I was in elementary school. More recently I decided to get serious and set myself a goal to climb all of Colorado's 14ers, all 50 state highpoints (plus Washington DC) and all Seven Summits. I needed a way to commemorate each peak as I reached it and decided I wanted to use benchmarks. The only problem was I couldn't find them anywhere so I decided to make them. They looked so cool that I thought there must be other climbers who would enjoy having an attractive and unique display of their accomplishments and passion.
